2. Our Services

Depth of Light Ltd provides renewable energy installation services to domestic and commercial customers in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. Our services include:

  • Solar panel installation — supply and installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems
  • EV charger installation — supply and installation of home and commercial electric vehicle charging points
  • Battery storage installation — supply and installation of home battery storage systems

All services are carried out by qualified engineers in compliance with all relevant UK regulations and standards.


3. Quotations and Pricing

3.1 All quotations provided by Depth of Light Ltd are free of charge and without obligation.

3.2 Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.

3.3 Final pricing may be subject to change following a site survey if conditions differ materially from those described at the time of quotation.

3.4 All prices are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate unless stated otherwise.


4. Accepting Our Services

4.1 A contract is formed when you accept a written quotation and we confirm acceptance in writing (by email or letter).

4.2 By accepting a quotation, you confirm that you have the authority to authorise works at the relevant property (e.g., as owner or with written permission from the owner).

4.3 We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, in which case any deposit paid will be refunded in full.


5. Payment Terms

5.1 A deposit may be required at the time of booking, as detailed in your quotation.

5.2 The remaining balance is due upon completion of installation, unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing.

5.3 We accept payment by bank transfer and card. Details will be provided on your invoice.

5.4 Late payment may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.


6. Installation

6.1 We will carry out all works in a professional and workmanlike manner, in accordance with relevant UK standards and regulations.

6.2 We will aim to complete installations on the agreed date(s). If a delay arises due to factors beyond our control (e.g., adverse weather, supply chain issues), we will notify you promptly and agree a revised date.

6.3 You are responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the installation area on the agreed date(s).

6.4 Any additional works identified during installation that were not included in the original quotation will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.

6.5 We will leave the installation area in a clean and tidy condition upon completion.


7. Warranties and Guarantees

7.1 We provide a workmanship warranty on all installations. The duration and terms are specified in your quotation or installation certificate.

7.2 Products and equipment supplied are covered by the relevant manufacturer’s warranty. Details will be provided at the time of installation.

7.3 Warranties do not cover damage resulting from misuse, unauthorised modifications, acts of nature, or failure to follow maintenance guidance.

7.4 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.


8. Cancellation and Your Right to Cancel

8.1 If you are a consumer and the contract was entered into off-premises or at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to the contract, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

8.2 To exercise your right to cancel, please contact us in writing at info@depthoflight.co.uk before the cancellation period expires.

8.3 If you request that works begin within the 14-day cancellation period, and you later cancel, you may be charged for any work carried out up to that point.

8.4 Cancellations made after the 14-day period, or where work has been substantially completed, may be subject to a cancellation fee as outlined in your quotation.


9. Personal Information

9.1 We collect personal information (such as your name, address, email, and phone number) in order to provide our services and respond to enquiries.
